Don't Be Unsure

Too many times I counsel with people who are unsure of their salvation. Many have grown up in church or made a decision at a young age and have heard so many messages, been in so many Bible Studies, have a great knowledge of the Bible, but have no assurance of their salvation. No personal relationship with Jesus! Others may have come to Christ in their past but have fallen away from God, and the church, and entered into a relationship with the deceptive spirit. When you haven't confessed any sin in a long time and are carrying a "back pack" full of sin that has muddied your image of Jesus Christ, it is difficult to experience God's love.

When we read God's Word together, we hear the truth of His Word. John 5:24 says, "...whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life." If we know the Lord Jesus, His Spirit will confirm whether we are His, or not. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." If you're not His, stop right now and settle the matter. Pray this prayer: "Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that God gave You, His only Son, to die on the cross for my sin. Forgive me of my sin, come into my heart, take control of my life. Make me what You want me to be. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!" Now write this date down as your marker that you are now HIS!

Jesus said "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand." John 10:28 Once you're His, no one can take you away from Him. If you allowed sin to separate you from Him, then confess the sin, uncover it, and repent, turn from the sin to Him. He will forgive you and restore you into a relationship with Him. That is a daily action that all Christians should practice. Confess, (uncover) repent, (turn from the sin), restore, (allow His Spirit to heal your body, soul and spirit) and be transformed by the renewing of your mind, like it says in Romans 12:1-2. Practice doing His good, pleasing, and perfect will.

I must tell you that I hear discussions all over the world about the, "for" and "against" of the "eternal security of believers". That simply means that once you are saved, you can never loose your salvation. Others say it is just an excuse to believe and then live as you choose. Please hear me, God knows your heart! He knows if you know Him, if you are living for Him, if you have made Him the Boss of your life. He is the only One who can save you. Our salvation does depend on our genuineness and truthfulness with HIM. Remember, you can't fool Him, can't trick Him, and He knows who and whose you really are and who you really live for. If you're not sure you're His, then more than likely your not. It is false presumption that the grace of God leads to sin.

Titus 2:12 Grace teaches us to live soberly, righteously, and godly. God's unmerited favor and undeserved love is an incentive to live righteous, with thankfulness and gratitude to Him who loved us so much that He gave His only Son. Those who believe can't be saved one day and lost the next, and have no assurance or have no joy of sins forgiven, because they believe they may stumble sometime in the future and wind up condemned by God. That is no way to live. We who have asked Him into our hearts and have given our lives to Him, the Bible says He knows us, and we will know His voice, and we shall never perish. John 10:27-29

Hypocrites and fakers who never made a commitment to Christ will be found living a lie. You may say, "They seemed to be so sincere." So did Judas! Not every one who says "Lord, Lord," will enter God's kingdom. Matthew 7:21 What is the will of God? That you believe in His Son Jesus and receive Him as your Savior!

1 Peter 1:5 tells us real security! God's power keeping us, through faith, and according to Ephesians 2:8-9. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus. Jude Verse 24 and in John 10:28, under no circumstances or conditions will Christ reject and cast out one who has truly believed in Him. John 6:39

Heavenly Father, I know that I believe in You and that I have everlasting life. I believe in Your power, Your promises as stated in Your Word, and that You shed Your blood for me. I am sure of my salvation and know that my eternal life has already started. My hope is in YOU! In Jesus name I pray, Amen. YES or NO
